his is a small anvil/swivel vise that is mounted on a 3/8" plate 6"x 4" that has been powder coated. The swivel under the vice is concaved so that only the outer edges of the swivel are touching the base plate, this allows the swivel to have just the right tension, however it may be tightened to the tightness you would prefer, by adjusting the jam nut on the bottom of the base. The anvil is made from cast iron
steel, so that small holes can be drilled for your convenience, when tapping out pins of a Rongeur. This makes working on surgical instruments a lot easer, rather than asking someone to come help you hold this just the right way. The plastic star knob on the vice makes it easy for you to fast screw the jaws together. I hate the sliding bars on a regular vice that's always in your way. The four rubber bumper feet on the bottom of the base plate, helps to keep this third hand from moving around on your work bench.
Concaved swivel on the vice that has an adjustable tension. Very smooth action on the jaws. Stick on sponges are placed on the insides of the vice jaws. No damage to your customer's instrument when gripping thigh. Star knob for easy jaw opening and closing. The base, 6" x 4" x 3/8" is powder coated. Just right for a workbench.
The rubber bumper feet help to keep the unit in place when using the hammer.
It's great for holding anything while silver welding or using the torch just to heat or bend.
